Slut Aus Nord Thermohaline are an aquatic, experimental black metal band that focus upon the tumult of the storm and the raging mass of the ocean through swelling electronics and fluid guitars, avoiding pirate cliches to create something unique musically and conceptually in the world of black metal.

J&S A really interesting EP (and long-distance project for that matter) build firmly on some crushing atmospheric black metal, mixing in elements of experimental synths, saws and even electronica, resulting in an engaging and thematic EP that progressively builds a rich and dark nautical atmosphere. Best listened to start-to-finish to get the full impression! One of the most original releases I've heard in some time, I'll be listening to this a lot.

Leland Sage Experimental and progressive, and with a very trippy atmosphere, this release also has some great grooves and hooks. Definitely some unique black metal, and highly recommended.

Dire commotion in appalling solitude The grandeur of opaque darkened anguish  Sorrow and despair canard inexistence While paucity moves and breathes sour languish  Marrow quintessence of the abyssal condemnation Engulfs the impulse of sentience and spew extinguish  Immeasurable cliffs stand in dimness dismay Concealed, an abomination vastness so outlandish   Abyssal Reefs Behemothic depth My spirit forges  Abyssal Reefs Behemothic depth My spirit scourges I die as slow as I’ve lived Like if swallowed by a nautical black hole As gravity greets and meets my body Cradling it devoid of emotion But crushing it in an everlasting embrace  But I prevail As I am home At last I live as slow as I die Like if spew from a nautical wormhole As these forces tumble and caress my element Nourishing it bereft of warmth Simply crushing it in an everlasting embrace  But I prevail For I am home At last  I cease to exist, I discontinue For I long to become part of the void Transforming my cells, swaddling to abstract Completing the long term yearning  Of belonging, the kinship with the currents   So I let it go As I am home At last

about

Malevolant shrieks of the drowned not even the sirens from the darkest corners of the ocean could hope to equal. Black metal riffing like the evergrowing and slowing wash of the turbulent waters.

Drums beating across galleys, commanding even the most unwilling to its rhythm.

But be aware that the Oceans harbour not just brutality but also strangeness in its floods, overthrowing any and all preconceived notions one might have of this strange entity.

As waves of water crash violently against the rocks, so too do we hope these sonic waves crash the eardrums. As unsuspected as the sudden maelstrom underneath the ship, so too do we hope you will be pulled under and suffocated in the saline waters of Thermohaline!

Thermodynamic Oceanic Black Metal from: BE - PT/BR - AR

Let yourself be drowned in sonic waves, gasping for air and imploding in crushing compression. Breathe in the salty atmosphere of the vast oceans. Descend and face your blackened doom in the ultimate depths of not just our planet, but ultimately our own minds. ... more
